Brian Roig was born to a middle-class family in Gloucester County, New Jersey in 1978. He recalled his childhood as a life spent surrounded by loving friends and family, a pretty stable school life, and above all, a tenacious talent for music, specifically the drums. Prior to joining Ghostbusters: Doom Patrol he had been a member of at least two bands, one of them with longtime friend James das Gherin on bass and vocals. Known as a metalhead in school, Brian was your typical outcast who made friends with fellow outcasts. During college, he enrolled himself in an Occult Sciences course, gaining the acquaintance of a mysterious young man named Jayson Riddle. Riddle introduced Brian into a netherworld unknown to the young man. The deeper he got, the more interested he became, until one day Jayson took Brian aside and introduced him to a society of mages, non-hermetic in their practices, known as the Order of Ra. Among those present at meetings and teachings was an elderly gentleman with an air of arrogant aristocracy, known only as Ankar, but who would later be revealed to be Adrik Thorsen, years before the two would be common enemies. While Brian never knew Thorsen formally, the elder man regarded many as beneath him.
Following college, Brian went back home, and got a job working in a record store in Red Bank by day and continued his teachings by night. Taking a cue from Harry Houdini, he set about becoming something of a "Fraudbuster", using his skills in debunking myths and fallacies that are perpetrated. The business did not last long and Brian was back in the record store.
The chance to show his skills finally came in 2004 when he was recruited to join a fringe group of specialists for Ghostbusters International® and to go into the nearly destroyed town of Dalton, Nevada. This group soon became Ghostbusters: Doom Patrol. At first, Brian's skills were not very valued: he was seen by others as just another "wizard" trailing the coattails of the more famous Vincent Belmont. Even on the team, it was difficult to do little more than provide shielding. However, he soon brought to the table a friendly face, and, along with C.J. and Salina, was an adept investigator who used his years of paranormal knowledge and teachings to rescue the team from more than one crisis.
Tragically, Brian disappeared in 2006 following an event by a Golem in his likeness that wrecked havoc for his team.
His current whereabouts are unknown.
