Andrew Williams
Full Name: Dr. Andrew James Williams
Rank: Franchise Executor
Field of Study: Criminology, Psychology, and Monster Hunting
Theme Song: Calling All Stations

Stemming from his family's history, fate would allow Andrew Williams to become a fighter, dynamic in his own right. His grandfather served in both World War II and the Korean conflict. Nineteen years later his father and two uncles would also see combat in 1972 during the Vietnam War. There his father made the acquaintance of another soldier serving his second tour, Winston Zeddemore. Andrew was born in 1976 in Katy, Texas close to one year after the return of his father from the frontlines. From the outset, he had a fairly average childhood. He developed an interest in professional wrestling, first of the old AWA and later the growing McMahon organization known as the World Wrestling Federation. Roughhousing with his brother was the norm in the Williams household. While his mother approved little off her sons' primal endeavors, his father encouraged his boys to be boys.

Andrew would also manifest a love for music, learning both the cello and the stand-up double bass (which would eventually evolve into a mastery of the electric bass and guitar). By his teen years, he had become somewhat of a loner, as his father's illness weighed heavily on his family life. To say that Andrew didn't believe in luck was an understatement, because he never seemed to get it, an example of this being begrudging run-ins with the law over a series of minor juvenile infractions. At this time, his running with a group known as the Gas House Gang (so aptly named as they hung out in an abandoned gas station) gave him a place to be himself after feeling so long that his life had become unraveled. With them, he honed a criminal aptitude that would prove reliable in the ensuing years. During high school, he entered into a relationship with fellow student named Ashley Mullins; they were inseparable. Although she was a year younger, their devotion to each other was pure. In the last few weeks of his senior year, Andrew enrolled in a college preparatory class entitled "Studies of the Paranormal and the Occult", given to those interested in the field of parapsychology. It's instructor, Donald Salaway, would offer clandestine after-hour lectures that were often filled to the brim with eager pupils interested in the paranormal. Although Ashley had her hesitation, Andrew was excited at the notion of understanding "it", as he would say. Though she was unaware, Andrew was equally as nervous about the whole affair, and his fear did not subside when Salaway entered the darkened gymnasium and incurred events that would change the course of his life forever.

It is unknown what exactly went wrong. Subsequent investigations by Ghostbusters International® into the event revealed that Salaway may have accidentally caused a Class VII crossrip in an unrestrained area, although as Andrew would remember it, the man feigned ignorance before proving his own true colors. Regardless, the few survivors that remained agreed on one thing: a door was opened to another realm and what came out was a horror they could not send back. The entity that crawled out was later determined to be a son of the demon lord known only as Koth, a powerful Class VI being that left utter destruction in it's wake. Ashley, while holding onto Andrew, was sucked inside the hellish portal against her will, forcing him to loose his grip and forever his love. It was a sacrifice that has haunted Andrew for many years and to this day he carries her necklace as a memorial in her honor.

Professor Salaway escaped unscathed with neither worry nor care for those fallen. Of the students who entered the gym, Andrew was the sole survivor. There were others who waited outside for their friends, injured in the chaos as the gymnasium collapsed under the gravity of the portal. Above him, he could see Salaway in the starry right, riding the demon-sloth and he attempted to make chase, but failed. Shortly after an investigation by the local authorities, Andrew left high school and embarked on a worldwide hunt for his beloved's killer. It at first proved fruitless when he was nearly murdered by a vampire in England, only to be saved at the last moment by a self-proclaimed "monster-hunter" named Cyrus MacTaggert. Utilizing his roguish charm, Andrew endeared himself toward MacTaggert's good side and was eventually taken under the man's wing, first as his apprentice and then his partner. By 2000, he had become very skilled in the dispatching of unearthly and inhuman creatures of the night, though the memory of the ghosts of his past had not regressed with time. In London, Andrew had successfully discovered the whereabouts of Salaway, and with the aide of MacTaggert was able to track him down to the high cliffs of Dover. In the ensuing battle, MacTaggert sacrificed his life and gave his all for his friend, allowing Andrew to finally receive his revenge against his former professor, but at a high cost for which the Texan was not prepared. Salaway attempted to impart Andrew with a curse that would turn him into an Incubus, but in his last breath in the concluding fight with the young slayer, was killed before he was able to complete the spell. Andrew's quest to right a past wrong was over, but another war was far from its end. MacTaggert dedicated his life toward purging the world of unholy evil. Andrew knew the stakes were high and the hunt needed to continue.

While he would be able to enjoy the daylight and leisure of a normal human, he was also endowed with the strength and vitality of a living vampire. He returned home shortly thereafter, but did not stay for too long, as he was off again continuing the fight that Cyrus MacTaggert had started.

For a brief time he made his living as an underground shootfighter, and was in Florida trailing a new menace, known only as "The Fantom", who left many dead in its wake (one of whom was the older brother of later teammate C.J. London). As of 2008, the Fantom has never been caught, though Andrew is certain there is more than one being claiming the name.

In 2004 he was recruited by Ghostbuster C.J. London to join a stand-in team of rookies to aide the New York branch of paranormal investigators (The Extreme Ghostbusters) on a case in Dalton, Nevada. This alliance would, in turn, result in his enlisting with the franchise from that association, which would go on to become the Ghostbusters: Doom Patrol. Despite the jocular circumstance of their name, Andrew takes his work very seriously and has never once let his teammates down under any circumstances. He later began developing a relationship with teammate Salina Duran, causing him for the first time in many years to feel a sense of happiness; however, this would not last. In 2006, Andrew was temporarily possessed by a demon in the employ of Adrik Thorsen, causing him to attack Salina. Through sheer will power and Salina's love for him, he was able to break Thorsen's influence, but at the cost that he had severely hurt someone he had sworn to protect. Ashamed, he fled Philadelphia and traveled east, landing himself a job as a dock-boy in Chiba City, Japan under the name James Gilmour.

He returned to Philadelphia in 2007, rejoining a vastly different team than the one he had left behind.
